This week in stitching

This week was a little slow on the knitting front. The kids and my dh's new job kept up all really busy!! I have been try to finish up projects that I had started and never finished and am succeeding somewhat. Although, I keep starting all the mystery KALs that I belong to!! :o)

This is a blanket that I am making my DS#1 who is 7. I made a small one for my nephew when he was born and my son loved it so we went to Jo Anns and he picked out this yarn. It is the Grandmother's Favorite pattern and currently I have 155 stitches on the needles and it is 22 inches long on a side. I had wanted to make it 36 inches or longer to a side, but I am almost done with the first ball of yarn so I have decided to continue until there is only a bit left and then start the decreases so I don't need to get more yarn.

These are the side panel from a Purse Kit from pussycat2 called "Alexandra". DD#2 came with me to my LYS and asked if I would make it for her. Of course it looked really cute so I said yes. Now I have to be true to my word. It is knitting up really, really quickly. The yarn is Tahki Cotton Classic and feels nice while knitting. The only real challange is getting those flowers threaded on before I started knitting and then I have to keep moving them down the yarn as I go. Annoying (I just want to keep knitting!) but worth the effort :o)
The Bookmark Club is making a really pretty bookmark that I am a few repeats away from completing. This is what I have so far. The holes actually make pretty hearts and after I block it I think they will show up much better. DD#2 loves it so I am thinking about doing a few more pattern repeats and turning it into a scarf for her favorite doll.

I have just started the Dishcloth Mystery KAL for Mid-April and most of the others in the group are already done and look really, really pretty. This is where I am at and I hope to finish it this weekend.

I like the look of that purse you're making for your daughter.

Thanks for the comment on HalfSoled Boots. I appreciate it.

You're right that I don't want to be that girl anymore either. It's just such a pity we can't have all the wisdom and self-confidence that comes with experience, when we are young and hot. Boy, would we have been the total package!
